A Pokémon Scarlet and Violet player presented the result of an incredible effort by showing their Gholdengo team. Gamers can catch and build their team of more than 100 new Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. These new Pokémon, like those from previous generations, sparked a discussion for a variety of reasons.

The small Gimmighoul, a creature that looks like something out of a Banjo Kazooie-style adventure game, is one of the new Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Although the Ghost-type Pokémon has two forms the Chest Form and the Wild Shap, only the first form can be obtained in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It is possible to develop the Pokémon into the Steel/Ghost-type Gholdengo once the player obtains a Gimmighoul. It’s not difficult to obtain a Gholdengo, but it does take a lot of time and effort on the gamers’ end.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Gholdengo team was visible in a screenshot uploaded by Reddit user Ayelynn_. The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet player must accumulate 999 Gimmighoul Coins and evolve a Gimmighoul, which is already an amazing quantity, in order to obtain a single Gholdengo. Given that Ayelynn_ had evolved six Gholdengo, the trainer needed 5,994 Gimmighoul Coins to put up this incredible team.
Hundreds of comments and upvotes were left on Ayelynn’s posts on the Pokémon Reddit discussing the player’s difficult effort. A hilarious suggestion for becoming even more extreme was suggested in one of the comments: Ayelynn now fills a box with Gholdengo. Another Reddit user complimented Ayelynn_ for her patience after commenting that they previously thought evolving their two Gholdengo was a hard task. A third comment pointed out that evolving a Gimmighoul is now a little easier thanks to the Pokémon GO and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet compatibility revealed last month.
Where to Find Gimmighoul & Gimmighoul Coins
Gimmighoul are small bugs with coins on their backs as well as the chests you can find near towers and ruins. Gimmighoul, however, can only be found in Chest Form.
Its Wild Shape, which is extremely little, cannot be trapped. They can be located anywhere, but we frequently discovered them around signs, bridges, Pokémon Centres, and ruins. Gimmighouls cry will alert you when one is around (which kind of sounds like a stomach rumbling). Interacting with Roaming Form Gimmighoul leads it to run, however, it can drop one to 200 Gimmighoul Coins. Wandering Gimmighouls can respawn very frequently as well, so be sure to check the locations where you previously spotted them to collect more coins.

Gimmighoul’s chest form drops sharply more coins, ranging from 30 to 777 (if you’re lucky). They, however, have key places and a far lower likelihood of respawning each day. As long as you defeat or capture the Gimmighoul in combat, you’ll receive the coins. This can appear to be an overwhelming amount at first, but the coins build if you frequently interact with Gimmighoul along your journey. We recommend farming Chest Form Gimmighoul since they drop more coins if you’re still under 999 when you need Gholdengo to finish your Pokédex.
We just hunted down Chest Form Gimmighoul to gather coins, but we also made sure to frequently visit some of the ruins on the map to engage with respawned Roaming Form Gimmighoul there.
Evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo
You need 999 Gimmighoul Coins in order to evolve Gimmighoul. This may seem like a lot, but as you explore Paldea and gather coins, they’ll add up. By the end of our excursion, we had roughly 750 of them; to make up the difference, we simply hunted Chest Form Gimmighoul.

Simply level up your Gimmighoul to transform it into Gholdengo after you have 999 Gimmighoul Coins in your possession. To do this, you’ll need 999 Gimmighoul Coins, so pick an evolution you like.
A previous version of this guide incorrectly stated that evolving Gimmighoul does not use any Gimmighoul Coins that are currently in your possession. Gimmighoul’s evolution into Gholdengo uses all the coins.

Gholdengo’s Signature Ability: Good As Gold
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet now have a new Ability accessible only to Gholdengo, Good as Gold. This amazing power disables status moves from having any effect on Gholdengo. But it doesn’t prevent physical effects like paralysis.

The number of Pokémon with entertaining appearances has increased largely to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s developments, such as Gimmighoul. Due to Gholdengo’s Ben 10-like appearance, it can even be included in the list. Because of the strange manner the Gholdengo evolved, having just one of them on the team is a special experience. This makes Ayelynn’s concept even more amazing. It also shows how creative Pokémon players really are, with the community frequently coming up with fresh ideas to liven up the game experience.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are now available on the Nintendo Switch.
