In order to bring Gimmighoul to Pokémon Go last year, Niantic and The Pokémon Company collaborated. This was done while excitement for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was growing. For connecting the two games, the Pokémon Coin Chest from the Paldea region was included in the AR game.

Trainers can now officially add Gimmighoul to their team because the connection between Pokémon Go and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is now live. Sending postcards between the mobile and Nintendo Switch games gives users the chance to encounter Roaming from Gimmighoul and gather Gimmighoul Coins.
Players get a bag of Professor Willow-made coins when they mail a postcard to Scarlet or Violet. Gimmighoul like the sound and sight of sparkling coins and will rush to meet them. There is a daily limit of one postcard per person, with the possibility of a midnight reset.
The final objective should be to gather 999 Gimmighoul Coins as trainers continue to send postcards and catch Pokémon. Once finished, they can develop Gimmighoul into Gholdengo from Roaming Form. Catching the Pokémon and using it as a walking companion will earn you coins.

Using a Golden Lure Mod makes collecting coins a little bit simpler. You can get this by distributing multiple postcards. The mod transforms any common PokéStop into a golden one. Additionally, it provides greater prizes than typical PokéStops and very little possibility of coming across a Gimmighoul.

Also, there is a slight possibility that some PokéStop could turn Golden in colour without any Lure Modules, so keep an eye out! And make sure to check out the new avatar items inspired by Roaming Form Gimmighoul in the in-game shop. Moreover, there are numerous themed stickers to collect.
