The content in Bethesda games is known for being incredibly dense, and Starfield is no different. There is certainly more going on elsewhere to keep players occupied for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours, despite the fact that the primary story may be a little shorter than some might have anticipated.

It’s vital to keep in mind that Starfield includes a ton of side content and world-building knowledge; the main story is really a small portion of what the game has to offer. The accompanying Starfield task list, however, might be helpful for people who are solely interested in the main tale or anyone curious about how far they have gotten.
Things to do before ending the Main Story in Starfield
As players can access New Game Plus mode as soon as they finish the game’s main story, Starfield’s post-game is mostly concerned with tying up loose ends. Those who have unfinished business should leave and return later when they are ready to go on because there is a very clear point of no return at which players are given the opportunity to do so.

Almost all of the game’s side content may be finished in New Game Plus mode, but as players would lose all of their resources and weaponry when beginning a New Game+ run of Starfield, some may prefer to finish it during their first playtime. Others could argue that it’s preferable to preserve all of the game’s side missions for New Game Plus mode, which makes sense given that the only things that carry over are the playable character’s level and talents.
What matters most in the end is whether or not players want to finish everything in one playing or are OK spreading it out over several. In particular, the more Game Plus mode, which opens up more dialog options and pathways, may make the latter option a more entertaining one. However, individuals who are hooked on finishing the game can wait to activate New Game Plus mode until they are completely ready to go on, or they can just avoid doing so altogether.
Each of Starfield’s Main Story Missions
There are 19 main plot missions in Starfield, and it should take players about 20 hours to finish them all. This does not include the Power From Beyond questline, which is strongly connected to the main story but is fully optional. However, players are encouraged to complete these tasks as well because doing so can significantly ease the game’s closing moments. The majority of these can be finished in within fifteen minutes, and they are all rather short.

Mission goals for the entire Starfield (Risk of Spoilers)
In Starfield, each main plot mission is divided into objectives, with the majority usually having between ten and fifteen. The first mission, which acts as a lengthy tutorial of sorts, is one of the missions that is significantly longer than the others. Although there are still a few lengthy missions here and there toward the finish, tasks tend to get a little shorter as the game progresses. It’s also important to keep in mind that based on the decisions players make, some goals may change.

Each Main Story Mission in the New Game Plus Mode for Starfield
Players will enter Starfield’s New Game Plus mode right away after finishing the main plot. Here, they will have the option of reliving the action as it actually transpired or playing through an abbreviated version that takes them directly to the game’s conclusion. Players will only need to finish four main story missions if they choose the latter option, and they can finish them in under 90 minutes. The Power From Beyond questline is fully optional, just like previously.

- Among the Stars
- Revelation
- One Giant Leap
Whether or not one considers New Game Plus mode to be post-game material will ultimately determine whether or not Starfield contains any genuine post-game content. Most people will probably come to the conclusion that it is, especially given that it gives players a brand-new method to enjoy Starfield’s core plot. The game offers numerous hours of side material to keep players occupied before they reach the story’s conclusion (or commencement, depending on how one looks at it), so those that don’t at least can find solace in that.
Starfield is now accessible on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
